Dick Monday, a new father and the former director of the“Ringling Bros Barnum and Baley clown college, finds himself at home and in heaven doing small stage performances with his clown troupe, the New York Goofs. When he and his wife Tiffany are given the opportunity to take a steady gig touring with the Big Apple Circus, Dick finds himself trying to balance what truly drives him as an artist and ways he can make a living as a clown. As he juggles fatherhood and circus life, Dick is reminded of exactly why he started clowning in the first place.
